A few times a year, we bring in a glass artist from outside the studio for a hands-on, limited-seat workshop you won't find on our regular class schedule.

Hillary Lawson creates under the name Soleil Beads, working glass in the flame to make wearable and sculptural art centered on light, color, and meaning. She specializes in Double Helix silver glass — a reactive glass that develops shifting metallic and iridescent effects through careful flame chemistry, a technique demanding enough that it's been the subject of academic study in the glass art world. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches regularly through her own tutorial series and community of students, bringing that same hands-on instruction to The Torch Garage for a limited guest session.
A full-day, hands-on workshop working with Double Helix reactive glass — the specialty color line that shifts and develops metallic, iridescent effects through controlled flame chemistry rather than staying one fixed color. Exact date to be announced; targeting January 2027.
Once a date is set, Torch Garage members get a full week to reserve a seat before it opens to the public — a standard membership benefit for every Guest Artist Workshop we run. The 15% member class discount doesn't apply to Guest Artist Workshops, but the early booking window does.
We haven't locked in the exact January date yet. Send us your interest now and we'll reach out the moment it's confirmed — members first, then the general public a week later.
